Eligibility
To apply, you must meet the following criteria:
✅ E-AHPBA Membership: Current membership is required.
✅ Regional Focus: Projects must be based in the EMEA region.
✅ Research Scope: Proposals should focus on HPB surgery-related scientific research.
Grant Types & Award Schedule
- Research Grants: Up to €1,000 per grant
- Annual Availability: 4 grants per year (2 in June and 2 in December)
Application Windows
📅 June Awards: Apply between February 15th and May 10th
📅 October Awards: Apply between July 1st and November 10th
Step 1: Prepare Your Proposal
Your application should include:
📋 Project Title & Summary (250 words): A compelling overview of your research and objectives.
📚 Detailed Protocol (1000 words): Comprehensive outline of your methodology and expected outcomes.
💰 Budget: How will the grant funds be used? Provide a detailed breakdown of costings.
🕰️ Timeline: Project milestones and estimated completion dates.
✅ Ethical Approvals: Provide evidence if applicable.
Step 2: Submit Your Proposal
🔗 Submit your application through the E-AHPBA online grant portal.
🗓️ Deadlines:
- June Awards: May 10th
- December Awards: November 10th

Your proposal will be reviewed by the E-AHPBA Scientific & Research Committee, with evaluation based on:

Grant Administration & Reporting
- Project Updates: Provide project progress updates every 6 months to the EAHPBA scientific and research committee .
- Final Results: Within 2 years, present your work at an E-AHPBA Congress or publish in the HPB journal.
- Recognition: Receive a certificate and project logo to showcase your achievement.
Ethics & Compliance
All research must adhere to ethical guidelines and relevant local regulations. Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained for studies involving human or animal subjects.
