Training Programme Accreditation

E-AHPBA strives to promote high quality in training and education in HPB surgery.  It aims to do so by recognising quality of the end-product (through the UEMS exam) as well as of the training itself. Therefore, a training programme accreditation has been introduced.

Any centre can apply for accreditation, provided the Director of the training programme is a current member of E-AHPBA.  Centres organising a fellowship together can apply as one training centre.  The centre will be required to carry a handling fee of €2,500 as well as the housing costs of the auditors.  Applications (by the Training Director and the Hospital Administration) are to be directed to the president of E-AHPBA via the online application form available below:

Self-Assessment Application Form

We look forward to receiving your application and should you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us via carrie@eahpba.org.

The Accreditation Process

The accreditation process comprises three steps:

1) Self-assessment / eligibility
2) Audit
3) Reporting

Accredited centres will be acknowledged on the E-AHPBA website for fellowship positions and will be closely involved in the development of educational strategies of the E-AHPBA.
