Mission:

The purpose of the E-AHPBA EARLY CAREER GROUP is to support early career medical professionals in HPB surgery by encouraging scientific and clinical collaboration, facilitate professional development and providing networking opportunities and to provide a platform for early career professionals to be involved in the life of the E-AHPBA.

Early Career Group Objectives

  1. Promoting the exchange of knowledge and experiences among early career professionals in HPB surgery.
  2. Organising educational events, workshops, and conferences to enhance the professional skills and expertise of EARLY CAREER GROUP members.
  3. Fostering a supportive community for networking within the field of HPB surgery.
  4. Promoting research opportunities and collaborations for early career professionals in HPB surgery.
  5. Build international academic programmes to promote fellowships and research.
  6. Foster a supportive and inclusive environment within the E-AHPBA to empower emerging leaders, nurture professional growth.
  7. Support other E-AHPBA committees with an “Early Career Group” perspective, such as the Scientific Programme Committee and Education Committee.
  8. Collaborating with other IHPBA ECG and other relevant organisations to further the goals of the EARLY CAREER GROUP.

Who Can Participate?

The Early Career Group welcomes all E-AHPBA members who are 40 years of age or younger, OR identify as being in the ‘early career’ stage of their HPB practice.

Early Career Group Launch

The Group will officially launch to members during the E-AHPBA Congress in Dublin on 10th June 2025. Join us for these specially designed events at the upcoming Congress:

  • Official Launch Session – 10th June, 16:30, Auditorium
  • Early Career Lounge – Open daily, Top Floor Foyer
  • Networking Reception – 10th June, 19:30, Lounge
  • Interactive Fireside Discussions – Daily, 13:00, Lounge
  • Congress Wrap-Up Sessions – Led by early career members
