Dear HPB community and interested HPB surgeons,

We would like to take this opportunity to give you some information on our upcoming E-AHPBA educational course on liver malignancies, which will be held on the 28th and 29th May in Innsbruck, Austria.

This course is a new educational approach, set up by the E-AHPBA Education Committee, which should especially support participants during their UEMS exam preparations.  Hence, we have prepared the programme according to the HPB syllabus and included local experts from all involved disciplines as well as internationally renowned experts, to give you the most up-to-date information on liver malignancies.

Professor Hauke Lang
from Mainz, who was president of the E-AHPBA 2017 Congress, will share his expertise in surgical techniques and management of cholangiocarcinoma.  Professor Michelle de Oliveira from the renowned HPB centre in Zürich, will talk about HCC management and the ongoing debate of HCC classification.  Mr Mike Silva from Oxford, a major HPB and transplant centre in the UK, will give lectures on the complex management of neuroendocrine liver metastases and how to deal with complications after liver surgery.  This topic is clinically very relevant and of utmost importance.  Mr Kito Fusai from Royal Free Hospital in London, a well-known and very experienced HPB surgeon and lecturer, will present up to date management of colorectal liver metastases and methods to increase the liver volume.  Professor Stefan Schneeberger from Innsbruck, currently president of ESOT, will give you an overview of the basic principles of liver transplantation, he is very experienced and a great lecturer as well.

Besides all the important presentations, you will have the great opportunity to interact with the speakers during the course and the evening dinner, which will be highlighted by a motivation talk from Professor Raimund Margreiter, a pioneer in transplantation.
